An extraordinary experience! Take our informative cruise to Awaroa, then relax on the beach and enjoy a delicious lunch (additional cost) and great hospitality at Awaroa Lodge and Cafe*. Get picked up again at Awaroa or at your leisure, hike through native forest to Tonga Quarry (1.5 hours). A highlight of the walk is the boardwalk and bridges over Richardson Stream.
*The Awaroa Lodge and Café is seasonal, so are open from October to April.

Photograph the world-famous Split Apple Rock from close up, see native Fur Seals (Kekeno) in their natural habitat, marvel at the golden sands and the turquoise waters of the Astrolabe Roadstead, Anchorage, Bark Bay and Medlands beach all before you return to Kaiteriteri.
How about you just sit back and relax as we depart from picturesque Kaiteriteri Beach on a scenic cruise right into the bays, islands and beaches of the majestic Abel Tasman National Park.

Seals & Hike

Get up close and personal with the native Fur Seals (Kekeno)! This tour departs Kaiteriteri for Tonga Quarry, on your journey you’ll experience New Zealand Fur Seals in their natural habitat. We have access to get the boats close enough to the seals to enable you to get some fantastic photographs, so bring your cameras! We then land at Tonga Quarry where you can walk through the forest to Medlands Bay (1.5 – 2 hours), or the more energetic hikers can carry on walking to Anchorage (4.5 – 5.5 hours).

Seals, Bridges & Walk

Catch the boat from Kaiteriteri to Medlands Beach, viewing Fur Seals along the way. Enjoy a forest walk right in the heart of the Park and take in the views from the Falls River bridge.
This tour departs from Kaiteriteri, dropping-off at Medlands Beach you head south for Anchorage Bay. There is a short side track to the South Head Lookout, a short (but steep) side track leading to the secluded Sandfly Bay which is well worth a visit, and excellent views from the famous Falls River bridge where you may see kayakers or seals in the river below. The track continues through native forest, arriving at Torrent Bay where the low tide track takes you to Anchorage Bay. Check with Sea Shuttle staff for tide information. The high tide track is longer, more scenic, and offers access to the lovely Cleopatra’s Pool (currently unavailable).

Bus Service
To make your adventure with us much easier, we offer our very own bus service that can take you to our water taxis in Kaiteriteri and back home again.
Our bus services are only available when you book an Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle water taxi transfer or one of our tours.
Connecting bus service from Kaiteriteri to Marahau operates from the 15th October to 30th April.
